Joe Bataan

East LA Revue Joe Battan

Joe Bataan was born Bataan Nitollano on November 15, 1942. His father was Filipino, and his mother was African American. Joe Bataan grew up in East Harlem, New York. He is a successful Latin soul musician and popular world-wide. Joe has a large following on the West Coast, especially in the San Francisco and Los Angeles areas.

On May 30, 2010, Joe and Yvonne Nitollano performed at the Galaxy theater in Santa Ana, CA. They were accompanied by their long-time friend Peter “Chokie” Quintero, who passed away later that year. They were musically supported by The Latin All-Stars, that included Ray Poncin, Danny Santillan, and Ray Carrion. The Kool Katz duo, Art and Kelly Galvan also joined in on the performance. Comedian Gilbert Esquivel, another favorite in Southern California provided some fun comic relief. It was a great concert.

The stage was set and the packed house, with over 700 fans eager to see and dance to one of their favorite artists. Joe Bataan, singing and playing keyboard, was leading the band as they played one hit after another. On this recording, we have selected Nine of those hits including Good Old Days, When Sunny Gets Blue, Gypsy Woman, Puerto Rico Me Llama, Under the Street Lamp, Mujer Mia, I Wish You Love, My Cloud, and The Lord’s Prayer.

Please enjoy the music and support our musicians, vocalist, and artists. We thank you.
