Radioperson: The Chico show

message: after listening to the new shows I just cant thank you enough for all the good music you play the real music with real instruments and with soulful vocals. The way you introduce your show is right on Chico. The sounds of Congas, saxophones sound so sweet for us fans of good music. This musica is too good and eastlarevue.com is the best site on the net. I have checked others like on live365 and some others that I dont remember but you guys are sharp and professional. Please accept this note of thanks and to let you know that you have some really loyal and appreciative fans. My wife loves the music and shows too and I told her that this year I am going to be broke trying to buy all this music that you play. Who is the Cintron band.? wow what a sound? what about Mestizo ? I love their sound. why cant there be a radio station that plays all this stuff instead of the junk they do. All of this from Los Angeles where the stars shine brighter and stronger and where the stars of eastlarevue.com are always on. Frankie, Chico, Rocky and all of the others I have 3 words for you - Hijole Que Suave. now I am goind to groove mas y muy suave and suave asi.
Just like some tasty carne asada and frijolitos and a cold corona you guys are a nice combination.
Gracias. Manny 'El Loco' from Denver Colorado (formerly of West Covina,CA)

Greetings from Australia
Date: Tue, 9 JUL 2008 06:31:41 +1000

G'day Chico!
Greetings from sunny Gold Coast, Australia.
I have been listening to your program for the past three weeks and will do so as long as I could. It is cool. I got connected at 6 am EST on Mondays and I enjoyed it for about 11/2 hours before I leave for work. I listen at work all day long. I am an attorney here in Queensland Australia and I am Originally from El Salvador, I love jazz but believe it or not I did not know much about Latin jazz for me was salsa, merengue, mambo, you name it. It was not until I saw a movie called 'Calle 54' here in Gold Coast that I realised that this gender of music existed on its own and I have got hooked since. After the movie I did search the net and found latinjazclub.com and then your program at CRN, KCAA and then now your show on the Eastlarevue.com site and here I am telling you how much I enjoy it.

un abrazo bro. and keep up your good work.

My brother keep doing what you are and I just want you to know that EastLArevue.com and all the shows are great!I will be listening.

I remember all the Marines & Sailors that crowded town around that time, and all the bars, soda shops, and restaurants were blaring the big band sound of Tommy Dorsey in every jukebox in town...5 cents per song or 3 for a dime!

I remember my parents and all my Tios & Tias, all pachucas & pachucos, and most of them WW II Veterans, playing this Tommy Dorsey & other big band stuff late into the night on weekends in their 'marathon parties' that started on Fridays and ended on Sunday afternoons in east L.A. Great music from a great era!
As a Marine from 1972-77, I remember the song 'Song of India' on the jukebox in the Staff NCO Club at Camp Pendleton at San Onofre called 'The Boondocker'.
Thanks for the salute to the U.S. Marines!

message: Man, and I thought I had some rolas! You guys never cease to amaze me! I don't know where you guys find all your stuff, but I brag to all my friends about the cool stuff I get to listen to when I tune in. People that don't get into Internet music don't know what they're missing! For several years, the ONLY reason I had a computer and internet was for the music. I'm an oldie addict w/ no plans to 'rehab' from it. Yes, I admit, I'm stuck in the past, AND PROUD OF IT! I've been listening to 'my loco Primo' Chuy & Frankie Firme for many years now, and more recently to all the great DJ's featured on LARevue. I had begun experiencing problems making the 'connection' to the programs, and when I finally couldn't stand missing not one more show, I finally begged for help! I emailed Steven, Chico, Chino and the guys asking for suggestions as to what was causing my inability to log on. Boy, everyone PERSONALLY emailed back their advice immediately. Webmaster Alfred finally fixed me right up! What dedication! Thanks to all of you who took interest in getting me back online w/ you. And so here I am YEAH! FINALLY enjoying the MALO concert, Chico's 'Que Suave', DJ Velaz and his El Chuco contributon, Chino, Mr.OG and all the contributors, too many to mention. Keep it up guys! I travel from place to place. working construction, but feel at home no matter where I am, thanks to you. I love you guy! Best regards, La MUY loca, Lucy.

message: Mr OG is quite consistent in his music mixes. I enjoy putting on his show while I sit and write. As I do write, some of those oldies stir a lot of memories, good mememories and or lost memories. I think back to my life and remember a time when things were a lot simpler and finding that perfect oldie mix to make an 8track tape to play in my 55 chevy was a top priority.

I laugh when I hear some of those songs because they bring back a funny moment or two, but mostly they remind me of my home.
Thanks for having Mr OG and his Lost Memories Show.
